The authorities have transferred the former prime minister and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to Adiala Jail under heavy guard.
PTI chairman shifted Adiala Jail: A caravan of Islamabad police, consisting of 15 vans, two armored cars, and an ambulance, moved the PTI head from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
After picking up the PTI head from Attock Jail, the police caravan arrived at the Islamabad toll plaza.
“In the morning, Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, told the court that he had ‘now adjust to Attock jail’ and express his desire not to be transfer to Adiala jail.”
In a special court hearing a cypher case against him in the Attock jail, the former prime minister stated this.
Imran Khan added that he would ask his attorneys to drop the related petition.
Extension of Imran Khan’s remand
Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the vice chairman, had their judicial remand in the cypher case extended by a special court on Tuesday till October 10.
A special court extended Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s judicial remand in the cypher case until October 10 on Tuesday. Qureshi is the vice chairman and chairperson of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain extended Imran Khan’s judicial remand in the matter of the missing cypher, a top-secret government document, at the Attock District Jail under the Official Secrets Act 2023.
The court ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to file a challan in the case soon during the hearing.
The case took place at the Attock Jail after receiving approval from the Law Ministry and due to security concerns raised by the Interior Ministry.
Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, faced a guilty verdict in the Toshakhana case and received a prison sentence on August 5. The IHC had postponed his punishment as of August 29.
Despite IHC orders, Imran is still detained at Attock Jail.
Despite orders from the Islamabad High Court, security considerations delayed the transfer of PTI Chairman Imran Khan to Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail until late on Monday.
Further, One of his solicitors alleged that they relocated the former prime minister to Adiala Jail, causing confusion on social media.
According to the jail’s management, Khan has not yet been transfer to Adiala jail, denying the assertion.
