With 8.1 million views, the Netflix original movie “Jaane Jaan,” starring Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan, has surpassed all other non-English movies on the streaming service.
‘Jaane Jaan’ tops global Netflix chart: According to the study, the Sujoy Ghosh-directed Hindi movie also debuted in the top 10 in 52 other nations. Following the birth of her second child, Jehangir Ali Khan Pataudi, with husband Saif Ali Khan, the movie marks Kapoor Khan’s streaming debut and her comeback to acting.
An Indian translation of the best-selling 2005 book “The Devotion of Suspect X” by the Japanese author Higashino Keigo follows a single mother and her daughter as they commit a crime and a neighbour who assists them in covering it up as the police are investigating.
The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat (‘Paatal Lok’) and Vijay Varma (‘Dahaad’).
According to Variety, Kapoor Khan said, “I am so excited and thrilled to hear that the film has reached number one globally in the non-English section and is currently trending in 52 countries.”
“Working on a movie like ‘Jaane Jaan’ and making my OTT debut with Netflix have been such a joy. “I’ve been encourage by the responses and comments I’ve received from viewers and fans all across the world,” she continued.
“My spectacular streaming debut resulted from playing Maya D’Souza, collaborating with Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat, and being directed by Sujoy Ghosh.” I hope the movie stays at the top of the charts for a very long time.

So once you tally up all of these factors, Kareena Kapoor Khan suddenly becomes equal.
Various adaptations of “The Devotion of Suspect X” have been produce, including “Suspect X” (2008) in Japan, “Perfect Number” (2012) in Korea, and “The Devotion of Suspect X” (2017) in China. There are rumours that a Hollywood version is in the works.
