Hiroshi Kawamura, the chief executive of Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd (PSMCL), stated that the company has upgraded several cars to meet WP-29 requirements and has been working on exporting them.

Pak Suzuki plans export cars: According to a story from The News on Friday, Suzuki Motors CEO Kawamura addressed the second round of interactive sessions with part-makers. He affirmed the company’s commitment to offering affordable cars to ordinary Pakistanis and reassured that the economic problems were only temporary.

The company was developing hybrid versions, the CEO added.

The meeting’s attendees, who included prominent part manufacturers, all agreed that the automakers should encourage localization while also pursuing international markets.

Further, Kawamura urged the local participants to work together, saying: “It is imperative to take stock of the escalating crisis for the automotive industry collectively.”

Without local partners, nothing is possible.

However, Senior Vice Chairman of Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) Usman Aslam Malik promised the audience that OEMs will receive full support for the export of automotive parts.

Please note that WP-29 standards belong to an exclusive global regulatory forum operating within the institutional framework of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee.
