The ICC World Cup 2023, which will begin on October 5, will include a commentary team comprised of A-list celebrities, the International Cricket Council announced on Friday.
ICC World Cup commentary panel: The World Cup commentary team includes well-known cricket commentators such World Cup champions Ricky Ponting and Eoin Morgan, as well as Pakistan’s Ramiz Raja and Waqar Younis.
There will be a pre-match show, an innings break programme, and a post-match wrap-up as part of ICC.tv’s coverage of the event. Ricky Ponting, a former captain of Australia, and Eoin Morgan, a former captain of England, will participate in the coverage, the ICC announced in a news statement.
“Other World Cup champions Shane Watson, Lisa Sthalekar, Ramiz Raja, Ravi Shastri, Aaron Finch, Sunil Gavaskar, and Matthew Hayden will be there to encourage them.
“Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, and Ian Bishop, who called the historic 2019 World Cup final between England and New Zealand, will make their return to the commentary box.
Waqar Younis, Shaun Pollock, Anjum Chopra, and Michael Atherton, among other international legends and past captains, will also be providing live analysis from the commentary box.
Former international celebrities including Simon Doull, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Sanjay Manjrekar, Katey Martin, Dinesh Karthik, Dirk Nannes, Samuel Badree, Athar Ali Khan, and Russell Arnold will join them in the fun.
Leading broadcasters from around the globe who have made their fair share of memorable calls, such as Harsha Bhogle, Kass Naidoo, Mark Nicholas, Natalie Germanos, Mark Howard, and Ian Ward, will complete the panel.
The 45 matches that make up the ICC World Cup 2023 will feature a total of 10 teams vying for the coveted trophy at 10 sites from October 5 to November 19.

The ICC World Cup 2023 will feature a round-robin format, with each side playing nine matches against the other opponents, just like the previous tournament.
Further, At the conclusion of the group stage, the top four teams will progress to the semi-finals, scheduled to take place on November 15 in Mumbai and November 16 in Kolkata.
While the majestic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the tournament’s finale on November 19.
It’s important to note that each of the three knockout games in the ICC World Cup 2023 will include a reserve day.
