The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has raised the cost of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs20.86 per kg.

LPG prices increased: The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was raised by Rs 20.86 per kg, and then it was fixed at Rs 260.98 per kg, according to OGRA.

Meanwhile, there has been a Rs246.15 increase in the residential cylinder tariff. The new residential LPG cylinder price, which has increased, is Rs3,079.64.

It is important to note that Pakistan just got 100,000 metric tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Russia in the first batch.

The Russian Embassy in Pakistan said that Moscow has sent Pakistan its first shipment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), amounting to 100,000 metric tonnes, in a statement on X (previously Twitter).

The LPG batch travelled through Iran’s Sarakh Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to reach Pakistan. It further mentioned talks between Pakistan and Russia on the second shipment of LPG.

According to a source from August, Pakistan temporarily stopped importing Russian crude oil since the refining process produced more boiler oil than petrol. At the same time, they were preparing to negotiate a long-term deal with Russia for the supply of oil at ‘discounted rates’.
