On World Teachers Day, a day set aside to honour the contributions that teachers have made to society at large.

World Teachers Day: “The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage” is the theme for the day this year.

UNICEF, Education International (EI), and the International Labour Organization (ILO) observed the International Day of Appreciation for Teachers and Educators.

UN President António Guterres stated in a statement that there is still a global need for 44 million more teachers to ensure high-quality education for all students.

Across all educational settings, students show their love and appreciation for their professors by sending them cards, flowers, or gifts, or by planning special occasions and cultural activities in their schools and colleges.

Teaching demands passion, utmost dedication, and patience because it requires tutors to shape students, instill information, values, and the capacity to dream.

They celebrated the first World Teachers’ Day on October 5, 1994, and they have since planned this event on the same day every year. Local events, however, might take place on a day that is near to October 5 in order to avoid conflicting with the northern hemisphere’s fall or southern hemisphere’s spring break. Canada Post released a postage stamp in 2002 to honour World Teachers’ Day.
