Presenter for the ICC World Cup 2023 Zainab Abbas left India after an Indian lawyer complained about her allegedly making “anti-India” remarks on Twitter.
Zainab Abbas leaves India: Indian attorney Vineet Jindal filed a legal lawsuit against Zainab Abbas, citing a number of previous tweets that reappeared on the social networking site ‘X,’ formerly known as Twitter. In her complaint, the attorney claimed that the presenter had made “anti-Hindu” and “anti-India” comments.
Several sources now report that the sports journalist has left India and is currently in Dubai. She has denied allegations of being deported.
As a presenter for the 2023 Cricket World Cup, Zainab Abbas was present in India as a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) panel.
As of now, the ICC hasn’t made any official remarks about the situation.
One of Pakistan’s most well-known sports writers, Zainab Abbas, has previously covered a number of international cricket matches. Asia Cup 2023 was her last significant task before the World Cup 2023.
Zainab expressed her excitement to be presenting at the main event and her desire to learn more about Indian culture on Twitter before leaving the country.
“There was always curiosity about what was on the other side, more cultural similarities than differences, rivals on the pitch but comradery off the pitch, the same language and love of art and a country with a billion people, here to represent, to create content, and to bring in knowledge from the best in the business. Humbled to be presenting for the @ICC at the Cricket World Cup 2023 in India; a six-week trip away from home begins now.
