General Asim Munir, the chief of the army staff, stated on Thursday that Pakistan cherishes its defence and security cooperation with Qatar and hopes to strengthen it.
Pakistan enhancing defence ties with Qatar: In a meeting with Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem Hamad Eqail Al-Nabet, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, who paid him a visit at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, the COAS stated that Pakistan values its cordial ties with Qatar and that the Pakistani Army looks forward to closer defence and security cooperation with the Qatari Armed Forces.
The Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement that the discussion covered topics of mutual and professional interest as well as regional security issues.
“The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan Army’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region and pledged to keep working for better relations between the two countries,” according to a statement from the military’s media arm.
