Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) executive committee, met with the national squad on Friday before of their tense ICC World Cup 2023 match against the hosts India.
Zaka Ashraf meets Pakistan team: The PCB chief met the Babar Azam-led Pakistani team and inspired the athletes ahead of the crucial encounter against bitter foe India, set for October 14.
Zaka Ashraf advised the Pakistani players to enter the pitch without feeling any pressure.
On the day of the highly anticipated match between Pakistan and India, Ashraf remarked, “The entire nation is praying for their success.”
He continued, “Every player should forget about their dread of losing and run onto the pitch.
The PCB chair departed for Ahmedabad on Thursday night from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Ashraf will meet with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and government representatives when he is there to suggest the restoration of cricketing links between the two nations.
“Upon learning that the media staff had received clearance to submit their passports for an Indian visa to cover the ICC World Cup 2023, Zaka Ashraf made the decision to visit India.”
“I delayed my trip to India, but I’m now leaving tomorrow after learning that Pakistani journalists must present their passports in order to secure visas to cover the major event.
“I am pleased that the visa wait has improved as a result of our conversation with the foreign office.
“With the lads winning both games so far in the World Cup, I am really happy with how they have played. The players have the full support of the PCB management committee and the entire country as they compete in the present World Cup.
“I’m going to India to inspire the team. Before the India contest, I’ll tell them to play as fearlessly as they have the entire competition.”
Jay Shah, BCCI Honorary Secretary, acknowledged Zaka Ashraf’s intention to visit India and also warmly welcomed the PCB chief.
During their telephone chat, the two counterparts, Shah conveyed his joy at having Zaka Ashraf in India. Shah went above and beyond the call of duty by offering to arrange meetings for him with other important government figures while he was in India.
