Russia sent 27 tonnes of humanitarian aid from Egypt on Thursday for use by residents in the Gaza Strip.
Russia sending humanitarian aid to Gaza: “A special aircraft has departed for El-Arish in Egypt from the Ramenskoye airport in Moscow. According to a statement from deputy minister Ilya Denisov, the Russian Red Cross will receive the humanitarian aid and deliver it to the Gaza Strip.
According to Denisov, the assistance included “wheat, sugar, rice, and pasta.”
On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden announced a deal to allow much-needed humanitarian goods into Gaza, where one million Palestinians have fled their homes due to ferocious Israeli airstrikes.
“After conducting lengthy telephone negotiations with Egypt and face-to-face negotiations in Israel, Biden made an announcement that a small number of trucks would be permit to pass through the closed Rafah crossing from Egypt into Gaza, starting on Friday.”
