Pakistan International Airlines has had to cancel more than twenty flights, some of which were international, as a result of mounting debts owed by the nation’s flag airline.
PIA cancels flights due to fuel Issue: Cancellation or delay of several PIA flights has left the nation’s aviation industry in a dire situation, detaining passengers for hours as a result.
Recent media reports show that the airlines canceled 16 planes scheduled to depart from Karachi, the nation’s financial center, to various airports on Sunday. Additionally, they canceled two flights between Jeddah and Islamabad.
This event comes as Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has once more stopped providing fuel to airlines due to the failure to transmit daily payments necessary to maintain gasoline supplies.
The airline and the state-owned petroleum business had previously agreed on a daily payment to maintain the gasoline supply for important routes, but they are still not transferring the daily payment.
Despite receiving daily payments, the PSO alleges that it is not please to extend mercy to another state entity. The airline spokeswoman has also stated that PIA has already paid the PSO Rs500 million for the supply of gasoline.
