NEPRA Reduces K-Electric Power Tariff By Rs. 0.5

On Friday, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) declared a reduction of Rs0.5 per unit in the electricity tariff for customers of K-Electric.

The NEPRA issued a notification detailing the tariff reduction, attributing it to fuel cost adjustments (FCAs) made in April.

The notice stated that this relief is not extended to lifeline customers, users with consumption up to 300 units, Agricultural Consumers, and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.

The relief is limited to a one-month duration, as specified by the notification.

Three days prior, on June 13, NEPRA had increased the power tariff by Rs1.61 per unit for consumers across the rest of the country.

A notification from the regulatory authority confirmed the approval of an Rs1.61 per unit increase in electricity rates as a result of the monthly fuel adjustment. This additional charge is due in June for consumers.
