WhatsApp Introduces New Updates: Silence Unknown Callers and Privacy Checkup

Must Read

WhatsApp, the popular messenger application owned by Meta, recently unveiled two new updates, namely Silence Unknown Callers and Privacy Checkup, which are now accessible for both Android and iOS users.

The Silence Unknown Callers feature aims to enhance your privacy and control over incoming calls. It effectively filters out spam, scams, and calls from unfamiliar individuals, providing increased protection. These calls will not ring on your phone but will be visible in your Call list, ensuring you don’t miss any important calls.

Enabling this feature is simple: navigate your WhatsApp account privacy settings and choose “Silence Unknown Callers” under the calls option.

To raise awareness, WhatsApp has introduced a second feature called Privacy Checkup. This step-by-step guide assists users in understanding and configuring the application’s privacy settings, enabling them to select the level of protection that suits their needs.

By selecting “Start checkup” in the Privacy settings, users will be guided through various privacy layers reinforcing the security of their messages, calls, and personal information on WhatsApp.

To underscore the importance of these updates, the messenger application has introduced innovative methods to convey the message globally. Starting this week, WhatsApp promotes secure communication with friends and family through private messaging, establishing a safe space where individuals can freely express themselves.
