Near Nawab Shah, 10 bogies of the Hazara Express, which was travelling from Karachi to Rawalpindi, derailed, leaving at least 20 persons dead and over 100 injured.

Ten bogies veered off the tracks as a result of the disaster, causing pandemonium and harm to the passengers.
However, the up track’s traffic has been stopped.
The authorities are sending the deceased and injured to Nawabshah’s People’s Medical Hospital.
DC Nawabshah’s Shehryar Gul Memon declared an emergency in the local hospitals in addition to the rescue effort. He stated that the area has been provided with ambulances and rescue personnel to prepare for a relief operation.
As officials arrived on the scene to investigate the situation, they have not yet determined the cause of the derailment.
Paramilitary forces have already departed for the area on orders from the DG Rangers Sindh, Major General Azhar Waqas, to support the civil administration’s rescue and relief efforts.
Khawaja Saad Rafique, the minister of railways, stated during a press conference that initial reports indicated the train was going at a typical speed.
“He claimed that we cannot rule out ‘sabotage’ and ‘mechanical fault’ in the serious train accident.”
