Caretaker PM Kakar condemns attack on hospital in Gaza

“As of this morning, the acting prime minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, strongly condemned the strike on the Gaza-based Al-Ahly Al-Mamadany Hospital and called for holding Israel accountable for its ‘war crimes.'”

PM Kakar condemns attack on hospital: “On X, the interim PM expressed his strong condemnation, stating that the massacre of innocent civilians during the wicked Israeli attack is terrible and inexcusable.”

“It is unjustifiable to target a hospital, a safe haven for those in need. Hospitals and medical staff are protected by international humanitarian law, he said.

The interim prime minister demanded an end to “indiscriminate targeting” and pleaded with the international community to act quickly to put a stop to the violence and bring those involved accountable.

He said, “The supporters of the Israeli occupation need to reevaluate their policies that give the Israeli authorities free rein to carry out their campaign of terror against the people of Gaza.”

In a hospital in the Palestinian enclave on Tuesday, Gazan authorities said an Israeli air strike had killed 500 people, but Israel claimed a Palestinian onslaught was to blame.

During the recent violence in Gaza, the death toll was by far the largest of any single incident. As a result, protests were started in the occupied West Bank, Istanbul, and Amman.

Mai Alkaila, the minister of health for the Palestinian Authority, charged Israel with carrying out “a massacre” at Al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital. The attack, which occurred during Israel’s brutal 11-day bombardment of Gaza, resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that “barbaric terrorists” in Gaza attacked the hospital, unlike Israel’s soldiers.

Jalil Abbas Jilani, the interim foreign minister, added that Israel’s “heinous attack” was not an act of self-defense.

“It violates international humanitarian law and targeted innocent children, women, doctors, medical personnel, and displaced civilians seeking shelter,” he claimed.

Biden voiced his disgust

US President Joe Biden expressed his “outrage” at what had occurred and that he had asked his national security team to obtain details.

While visiting Israel, Biden issued a statement expressing his outrage and deep sadness over the explosion at the Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza and the terrible loss of life that resulted.

“The United States supports without reservation the protection of civilian life during conflict, and we mourn the victims of this tragedy, including the patients, medical professionals, and other innocent bystanders.”

Additionally, Antonio Guterres, secretary-general of the UN, expressed his horror at the hospital attack in a statement released today.

According to Guterres, he pleaded with the Hamas organisation for the hostages’ immediate and unconditional release as well as with Israel to grant Gaza quick, unhindered access to humanitarian aid.
