LAKKI MARWAT: Terrorists attack a police station in the K-P region of Lakki Marwat on Saturday night, killing yet another police policeman.
After the assault, one of the attackers was taken into custody and eventually died from his wounds.
According to police reports provided to The Express Tribune, criminals used heavy and medium machine guns to raid the Shehbaz Khel police station in Lakki Marwat during a pitch-black night.
But the police resisted and stopped the assault. During the gunbattle with  terrorists attack one police policeman was killed.
A police official reported that Constable Tahseenullah, belt number 3491 of the Rapid Response Force (RRF), “embraced martyrdom,” adding that the attempt was thwarted and the terrorists were forced to leave.
“A huge detachment of police was dispatched to the area as reinforcement; they performed a search and discovered one of the attackers who was injured. He had been left behind due to his injuries, the man claimed, adding that after being arrested and transferred to the hospital, the injured man passed away from his wounds.
Awais was the assailant, and both bodies were submitted for an autopsy.
It should be noted that on Saturday, a police officer was targeted in Charsadda’s Umarzai neighbourhood. Five police officers were hurt when terrorists raided a police station in Dera Ismail Khan on Thursday night.
The worst year for law and order in K-P was 2022 because terrorists continued to target police as their major objective. In numerous areas of the province, deadly attacks were carried out on both civilians and peace committee members.
The TTP terrorists’ surprise arrival in Swat sparked widespread concern and large-scale demonstrations from the residents, who claimed that the terrorists had returned to the region under the guise of peace negotiations with the government in which they had no involvement.
