A day after the Pakistani armed forces expressed grave worries about the safe havens and freedom of movement the TTP enjoys within Afghanistan, Afghanistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif chastised the country for failing to uphold key commitments made in the Doha accord.

Afghanistan not fulfilling obligations as neighbour: The defence minister attacked Afghanistan in a tweet on Saturday, claiming that the country was not upholding its obligations as a neighbour or defending the Doha peace accord.

According to Khawaja Asif, Pakistan has housed five to six million Afghan refugees with all of their rights intact for 40 to 50 years. In contrast, he continued, “terrorists who kill Pakistanis find refuge in Afghanistan.”

Further, The minister issued a warning that the current predicament could not continue. He declared that Pakistan will “with the guidance of Allah, safeguard its territory and citizens” by using all available means and precautions.

“The current state of affairs cannot continue. With Allah’s direction, Pakistan would take all necessary precautions to protect its territory and people.

Yesterday, the military services publicly expressed their grave concerns regarding the terrorist acts conducted by the TTP, a proscribed organization, from Afghanistan.

General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Quetta Garrison and enquired about the well-being of soldiers who had been hurt in the terrorist attack on Zhob.

Additionally, The officials informed the audience that there are TTP hideouts in Afghanistan and voiced the hope that the Afghan government would forbid the use of its territory as a weapon against other nations.

However, The media spokesman for the military pleaded with the Afghan interim government to see to the Doha pact’s execution. The military also raised concern over Afghan nationals taking part in terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
