Abdul Aleem Khan, a former PTI member, has been named President of the newly established Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), according to Jahangir Khan, the party’s founder.
Aleem Khan appointed President of Istehkam-e-Pakistan: Aamir Mehmood Kiyani has been named the party’s secretary general, he added in the statement on Twitter.
Awn Chaudhary has since been named the Party’s and the Patron-in-Chief’s Additional Secretary General and Spokesperson.
“More announcements to follow,” Tareen wrote.
All three were PTI members in the past. Aleem Khan left the PTI in 2021, while Kiyani departed the party after the May 9 events.
IPP was formally introduced by Tareen last Thursday in Lahore.
Several former national and provincial assembly members who had just left Imran Khan’s PTI after the incident on May 9 attended the launch.
The new party received support from several powerful lawmakers, who might significantly impact the upcoming general election.
Former PTI member Tareen claimed he switched to Imran Khan’s organization because he believed in it to “implement all the reforms that Pakistan needed and still needs.”
Tareen claimed they put in day and night labor to transform the PTI into a powerful political force. “People you see sitting here today, all of them were a part of this struggle,” he continued.
After the 2013 elections, “we infused the party with newfound passion and enthusiasm.”
ACCORDING TO TAREEN, the PTI’s virtual platform was reformed “because of which we all had come together.”
People were disappointed since things didn’t work out as we had hoped.
According to Tareen, the new platform will work to implement changes and assist the populace.
Former and current PTI members attended a reception Aleem Khan gave last month in Tareen’s honor.
The meeting was informed that it appeared the appropriate time to launch a new political party because more politicians intended to leave PTI.
