In three different cases involving vandalism outside the courthouse during Imran Khan’s court appearance, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Thursday issued arrest warrants with the possibility of bail for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Supremo Imran Khan and other party leaders.
Anti-terror court issues warrants for PTI Chairman: While the PTI Chairman’s council was in court, ATC Judge Abul Hasnat heard the cases.
The attorney filed an exemption plea at the beginning of the session, stating his requirement to appear in the Lahore High Court.
Judge ATC Abul Hasnat emphasized the significance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman’s participation in the ongoing proceedings, stating that he would compel the Chairman to appear before the court.
In connection with the judicial complex attack case, the court subsequently issued bailable warrants for key PTI officials Farrukh Habib, Shibli Faraz, and Hassan Niazi in addition to Imran Khan.
The court postponed the hearing of the case until July 19, as it demanded that all defendants, including Chairman Imran Khan, personally attend to defend themselves against the accusations made against them.
Complainants filed two complaints at Ramna Police Station and one at Golra Police Station, accusing the deposed premier and other stalwarts of leading crowds that incited people to injure and vandalize public property inside the Judicial Complex.
