Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, paid an unexpected visit to China this week and greeted gamers in Chengdu in the country’s southwest as his business deals with declining phone sales in its biggest market.

Apple CEO visit China: Cook said he had visited the Apple Taikoo Li store in Chengdu and met young gamers of the “Honour of Kings” game in a late-night post on his Weibo account on Monday.

The Chinese tech giant Tencent produces one of the most popular mobile games in the world, the online battle arena game.

He wrote, “The energy tonight was off the charts!”

He stated that “Honour of Kings” was first released in Chengdu and has since become a huge hit on the App Store.

The game raises the bar. He informed the government-run China Daily that both in China and abroad, the game is extremely well-liked. “It’s obvious that people are really enthusiastic and dedicated to the game. It’s wonderful to see.

Since first setting up shop in the Philippines in 1993, the US tech giant Apple has become a significant supplier of cellphones, laptops, and consumer goods there.

Cook stated that his business enjoyed a “symbiotic” relationship with China during a trip to Beijing in March.

However, Apple has had difficulties in the nation recently. China’s zero-Covid policy resulted in a reduction in factory production, negatively impacting sales last year.

Moreover, the supply chain of the corporation is in danger due to US export restrictions on high-tech components.

Additionally, according to Bloomberg this week, citing market analysts, sales of Apple’s new iPhone 15 in China have decreased dramatically compared to those of earlier models.

They cited declining consumption in the second-largest economy in the world as well as tougher competition from regional rivals like Huawei.
