He also revealed that they had formed other task teams to focus on various economic areas.

The businessmen raised concerns about the uncertainty caused by the discrepancy between the open market and the interbank rate of the dollar when they complained to the army chief.

According to the report, General Munir assured them that money exchanges would be subject to taxation, and he would encourage openness in exchange rates.

Earlier, journalist Kamran Khan had asserted that both Karachi and Lahore had hosted the sessions.

Khan claimed that the army chief had a “ambitious plan” to restart the economy that includes accelerating privatisation and enlarging the revenue base on X, formerly known as Twitter.

According to Khan, “Gen Asim anticipated that a free judiciary will support the economic revival mission.”
