Asif Ali Zardari, a former president and co-chairman of the PPP, asked the caretaker administration on Saturday to finish the projects started by the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
Zardari calls govt complete SIFC projects: “On X, he posted a statement on PPP’s account in which he added, ‘We should put the country on the path of development by finishing these projects.'”
“The nation is presently experiencing an economic crisis. Politics should be the last thing on our minds, the former president continued.
“After the new census was announce, Zardari said that the Pakistani Election Commission needed a new delineation.”
The ECP will conduct elections in accordance with the Constitution, he continued. In this context, he affirmed his faith in the commission’s entire membership, including ECP Chief Sikandar Sultan Rana.
“The statement claimed that the former president required the electoral body to carry out the delimitation upon notification of the census results.”
Additionally, “The party’s leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that the PPP believes elections should be held within 90 days and continued to express that elections should follow the completion of the delimitation procedure.”
The former foreign minister also noted the alleged double standard in the nation and asserted that the ECP has no jurisdiction to change officers until it releases the election schedule. Further, Bilawal reminded the ECP that all provinces in the nation were subject to the same rules.
