At least 10 dead, several injured in blast in Balochistan’s Mastung

A bomb that occurred in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Friday left at least 10 persons deadand more than 70 injured.

blast in Balochistan’s Mastung: Nawaz Gashkori, the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) for Mastung, was one of the fatalities, according to the district administration.

According to the police, the explosion was a “suicide blast” in which the bomber detonated himself close to DSP Gishkori’s vehicle.

They claim that all hospitals are operating under a state of emergency.

Security personnel surrounded the spot shortly after the explosion and began gathering evidence.

According to interim Balochistan Information Minister Jan Achakzai, rescue crews have been sent to Mastung. The critically injured individuals, he continued, are being transported to Quetta.

He stated that some of the injured were in critical condition.

Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki has meantime ordered the authorities to detain individuals guilty for the explosion.

Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, the interim interior minister, harshly denounced the explosion and expressed his sorrow for the lives lost.

Earlier this month, a blast occurred in the same neighborhood, injuring at least 11 people. Among the injured was Hafiz Hamdullah, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-i Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).

On his trip to Mangocher city in Balochistan, the JUI-F leader—who also serves as the spokesperson for the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance—was hurt, along with one of his aides and his gunner, in what the authorities are calling a roadside blast.

Eight other persons were hurt in the explosion because a coaster transporting passengers was also damaged.
