Peshawar bomb blast: Speaking to reporters close to the blast site, Cantt Superintendent of Police (SP) Waqas Rafi confirmed the explosion was a suicide bombing and described how it targeted an FC convoy that was travelling through Hayatabad’s phase 6.
The police officer claimed that the terrorists intended to target security forces personnel. He stated, “We are looking into the matter and gathering further details,” and promised to make those responsible for the incident public.
Rescue personnel and law enforcement organisations arrived at the scene and roped off the area after getting the information. The blast’s injured were taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
A bomb disposal team was also gathering information from the location to determine the nature of the event. But nobody has yet claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.
