Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistani squad, attended Shaheen Shah Afridi’s wedding on Tuesday in Karachi, despite allegations that there was a falling out between the two players following the Asia Cup disaster.
Babar Azam attends Shaheen Afridi’s wedding: Today at a lavish ceremony in Karachi, Shaheen Shah Afridi wed Ansha, the daughter of the late skipper Shahid Afridi. Other cricket luminaries like Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Tanveer Ahmed, and Sohail Khan were also present.
Following Pakistan’s withdrawal from the Asia Cup on September 14 due to their defeat over Sri Lanka in the Super 4 match, there have been reports in the past week that tensions between Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi erupted in the team’s dressing room.
The two reportedly got into a furious dispute, and Mohammad Rizwan interfered to try and calm things down.
By showcasing the Pakistan skipper in a post on X (previously Twitter) on Tuesday night, Shaheen Afridi put an end to the split rumours. He published a photo of the two of them.
Babar Azam, according to the left-arm pacer, is like family to him.
Following the wedding ceremony, images of the Babar attending went popular on social media. In them, the couple can be seen laughing heartily and giving each other a heartfelt embrace.
