“Babar Azam Achieves 10th T20 Century, Joins Elite Ranks in Cricket History”
Babar smashing 10th T20 hundred: When Babar Azam scored a 59-ball century for Colombo Strikers against Galle Titans in the Lanka Premier League on Monday at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, he became just the second player to have 10 centuries in T20 cricket.
At the international level, the Pakistan captain has three T20 hundreds, including two each in the Vitality Blast and National T20 Cup, playing for Somerset and Central Punjab, respectively. Additionally, he has 100 runs for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and another during a tour game against Leicestershire.
With his first triple-digit score in the Lanka Premier League, Babar increased his total of T20 hundreds to 10, becoming only the fourth centurion in the competition’s history.
The only other player with more T20 hundreds than Babar is Chris Gayle of the West Indies. In 463 games, the legendary power hitter has smashed 22 centuries. Further, In 264 T20 games, Babar has 10 hundreds.
In a 189-run chase on Monday, his century helped Colombo Strikers win by seven wickets with one ball remaining.
