Banking court calls Imran in prohibited funding case

Banking court calls Imran: The financial court summoned the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, a former prime minister, on February 28 in connection with a prohibited funding case filed against him.

Judge Rakhshanda Shaheen handled the proceedings of the former premier’s bail application case on Saturday, and postponed the hearing in the financial court located in the nation’s federal capital.

The legal counsel for the recalcitrant leader presented a copy of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ruling to the court during today’s hearing.

Asserting that a case was filed against him without investigation and that he is recovering from an assassination attempt, the PTI head had earlier requested in writing that the investigation officer of the illegal funding case record his statement.

However, the federal investigators turned down his plea to question him virtually.
