A provincial court in Islamabad granted bail to Bushra Bibi, a former first lady and the wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, on Tuesday in the 190 million pound Al-Qadir Trust case.
Bushra Bibi’s bail extended in NCA scandal: The court granted a request for bail against $100,000 in surety bonds until September 26. Until the next hearing, the Islamabad court prohibited the detention of the former first lady.
Case of phone tapping
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) postponed the hearing on Bushra Bibi’s plea against audio leaks to September 18 in today’s hearing.
Justice Babar Sattar of the IHC combined Bushra Bibi’s, the wife of the PTI chairman, and Zulfi Bukhari’s audio leak applications with Najamul Thaqib’s pending petition after hearing the petition.
NCA £190 million controversy
Additionally, Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and others are under investigation by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for their alleged acquisition of hundreds of acres of land in the name of the Al Qadir University Trust, which is reported to have incurred a cost of 190 million pounds to the national exchequer.
According to the allegations, the former prime minister and other suspects reportedly altered Rs50 billion (190 million pounds at the time), which was provided to the government by the British National Crime Agency (NCA).
However, On December 26, 2019, the PTI chairman established the Trust for the Al-Qadir University Project.
