Caretaker KP cabinet to approve four-month budget today

The caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet will meet to adopt the four-month provincial budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Caretaker KP budget: Muhammad Azam Khan, the interim chief minister, will serve as the meeting’s chair. A four-month yearly development programme, running from July 2 to October 31 of the current year, will also be approved by the cabinet.

The budget’s projected expenditure is Rs462.16 billion. Out of the total budget, 59.54 billion rupees have been set aside for the tribal districts, and the rest districts have received 402.61 billion rupees.

For ongoing development initiatives, the government has set aside Rs112.11 billion. Additionally, Rs43.33 billion has been set out for the districts’ yearly development project.

It has been suggested that Rs8.66 billion be given to local governments. Additionally, Rs309.49 billion have been set aside for the districts’ ongoing costs.

The budget calls for giving Rs192.97 billion for salaries. Additionally, Rs42.36 billion has been set aside for pension payments.

Additionally, it is recommended that the salary be raised from Rs26,000 to Rs32,000 per month. Employees in grades 1 through 16 would receive a salary increase of 35%. Those in grades 17 and up might experience a 30% salary boost.

However, The budget document states that the deputation allowance could increase by 50% and that retired employee pensions will likely increase by 17.5%. The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project would receive a subsidy from the government in the amount of Rs 1 billion.
