The acting prime minister presided over a lively roundtable discussion on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Numerous professors, researchers, and scholars from famous Chinese academic institutions and think tanks attended the roundtable.

PM Kakar attends Roundtable on CPEC: The Prime Minister spoke at the event and outlined Pakistan’s goals for the CPEC, which are regional connectivity and sustainable development. He also discussed how important CPEC has been in improving Pakistan’s socioeconomic environment over the past ten years.

The All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China, which is founded on respect and understanding, was highlighted by the Prime Minister as being a key tenet of CPEC.

The Prime Minister emphasised the significance of looking back on the trip thus far, highlighting the triumphs, assessing the lessons learned, and outlining a path for the next phase of high-quality development of the project while noting the accomplishments of CPEC over the past ten years. He also revealed that the two parties had decided to turn CPEC into a corridor of development that is green, innovative, and provides for people’s livelihoods.

Chinese academics and intellectuals emphasised the value and relevance of CPEC as a big collaboration between China and Pakistan under BRI in their statements. Additionally, they underlined Chinese businesses’ continuous desire to participate in Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones and make a positive difference for the CPEC’s expansion, improved regional connectivity, and sustainable development.

The roundtable participants agreed that CPEC may become a hub for regional trade and connectivity as well as a bridge for people-to-people interactions via joint efforts of the two countries.
