Official media reporte on Thursday in Beijing that President Xi Jinping stated China is prepare to expand its strategic partnership with Indonesia.

China open partnership with Indonesia: According to CCTV, Xi made the comments at a meeting with Joko Widodo, the president of Indonesia, in Chengdu, China’s southwest.

Widodo is in China to attend the FISU World University Games opening ceremony in Chengdu.

Xi urged Widodo to ensure that China and Indonesia finish the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway to a high standard as it gets closer to going into operation.

The high-speed train, a centrepiece project of the Indonesian president and a component of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, was already four years behind schedule when financing issues caused a setback.

Xi emphasized that both sides must complete the final kilometer of construction well to maintain the project’s high standard and calibre.

According to Xi, China is also open to increasing its imports of agricultural and bulk goods from Indonesia.

However, At the meeting, he placed special emphasis on the potential areas of collaboration, with a particular focus on smart cities and innovative energy vehicles, highlighting the significance of these sectors in strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
