China’s Huawei launches Mate 60 Pro+ smartphone for presale

China’s Huawei Technologies began accepting preorders for the Mate 60 Pro+ smartphone, introducing a new model to a line that has garnered attention worldwide for demonstrating the Chinese tech company’s ability to stave off US sanctions.

Huawei launches Mate 60 Pro: As it did for the introduction of the Mate 60 Pro smartphone last week, the business made no prior announcements before announcing on its own web store that it will begin accepting orders for the phone at 10:08 a.m. (0208 GMT) and deliver it by October 9.

According to the phone’s specifications, it can connect to two satellites at once and has more internal storage than the Mate 60 Pro.

It did not disclose the cost. The Mate 60 Pro may be able to download files at rates that are faster than the fastest 5G phones, according to speed tests that customers posted on Chinese social media.

TechInsights, a teardown study company, reported that Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) in China produced the brand-new Kirin 9000s chip that powers the phone.

The finding is viewed as a victory for Huawei, whose access to chipmaking equipment necessary for creating the most cutting-edge handset models has been blocked by the US since 2019. Due to this, the company was previously only able to release a small number of 5G models utilising chips that were on hand.

The business also unveiled the Huawei Mate X5, a new model in its foldable phone line, on Friday.
