Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Asim Munir said that his country will “at all costs” do everything in its power to destroy terrorist networks and safeguard its citizens.
COAS vows to dismantle terrorist networks: The army chief reportedly said this when he met with notables from all walks of life and tribal elders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s newly combined districts, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The “interactive session” took place in Peshawar during the visit of the chief of army staff (COAS). Additionally, COAS Munir presented Fatiha and lay a floral wreath at Yaadgar-e-Shuhada at Fort Bala Hisar (Headquarters of the Frontier Corps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-North).
The COAS honoured the extraordinary sacrifices made by Pakistan’s courageous and fortitude tribal people during the interactive session and praised their unwavering commitment to fighting terrorism “shoulder to shoulder” with the security forces.
He emphasised that the participation of Afghan citizens in terrorist attacks in Pakistan was detrimental to “regional peace, stability, and the interim Afghan Government’s violation of the Doha Peace Agreement.”
The army chief said, “Pakistan has concerns over the safe havens available to prohibited outfits and the freedom of action they enjoy on Afghan soil,” and he vowed that Pakistan will use whatever means necessary to destroy terrorist networks and safeguard its civilians “at all costs.”
The COAS further noted that Pakistan is successfully combating terrorism to create a stable and peaceful environment for socioeconomic development in the region. The army commander added, “With the unwavering resolve of the Nation.”
