COAS felicitates PLA on 96th founding anniversary

General Syed Asim Munir, the chief of army staff (COAS), referred to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the Pakistan Army as “brothers in arms” on Wednesday, stressing that the alliance between the two armies will continue to protect the shared interests of the two nations.

COAS felicitates PLA on founding anniversary: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media branch, claimed in a statement that the army commander made these comments during a commemoration of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the PLA at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The main guest for the event was General Munir.

Pang Chunxue, the People’s Republic of China’s charge d’affaires, Major General Wang Zhong, the Defence Attaché, representatives from the Chinese embassy, and officers from Pakistan’s tri-services attended the event.t.

Speaking at the event, the Chinese Charge d’Affaires congratulated the army chief for hosting the celebration of the PLA’s 96th anniversary..

“This all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan has withstood the test of time and change of international landscapes,” the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires said..

He continued, “China and Pakistan recently marked the 10th anniversary of the start of CPEC together, and in recent months, COAS and other military commanders undertook successful visits to China, which has greatly fostered the cooperation between the two forces.

Additionally, The COAS congratulated the PLA and praised its contribution to China’s defence, security, and nation-building, according to ISPR.

Further, The army commander emphasised many dimensions of the strong relationships that exist between the two nations, militaries, and populations, saying that the relationship between Pakistan and China is distinctive and sturdy and has demonstrated its resiliency in the face of all difficulties.

However, The COAS added, “The Pakistan Army and the PLA are comrades in arms, and our relationship will continue to contribute to safeguarding our collective interests.”
