An anti-terrorism court in Lahore released Yasmin Rashid, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Saturday in connection with the May 9 damage of Corps Commander House, also known as Jinnah House.

Court discharges Yasmin Rashid: Details indicate that the ATC Lahore ordered the former Punjab health minister’s immediate release after finding the former Punjab minister not guilty in the Jinnah House attack case.

Judge Abher Gul Khan presided over the Lahore ATC bench, which brought Yasmin before it. The police asked the judge to extend the PTI leader’s physical detention during the hearing.

However, the court denied the police’s request for an extended period of physical detention, and they released Yasmin Rashid from the case.

According to the record, the court’s written order stated that Dr. Yasmin Rashid is not mentioned in the FIR nor implicated through a supplementary statement. The court further noted that her summons in the case was based on the disclosure of a co-accused, which the court does not consider to hold any evidentiary value.

The court declared that it found no “incriminating material” against Rashid and ordered her release.

The authorities detained Yasmin Rashid, the president of the PTI Central Punjab, by section three of the MPO.

The court placed the PTI leader in jail on a 14-day judicial remand. Authorities detained her in a case that involved terrorism, among other things.
