Court release Amir Dogar: The case against former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Amir Dogar was dismissed by Multan’s anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday, and the court also ordered his freedom.
Dogar and 11 other party members were detained for rioting inside the electoral commission building. They were held in Dogar’s Multan dera (guest house).
According to reports, a standoff between PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) employees outside the ECP building descended into violence.
Dogar wasn’t initially detained since it was thought he wasn’t a part of the riots outside the ECP office.
But after he stated that he would accompany his employees if they were arrested, the police later brought him into jail.
Dogar appeared before the court today. The police requested his physical detention to seize the firearms in his possession.
However, the court later ordered his release and removed terrorism-related clauses from the first information report (FIR).
The charges against PML-N candidate for elections, Sheikh Tariq Rasheed, were dropped. He was taken into custody at Nishtar Hospital.
