A 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute at the regional capitals heralded the start of the day. After Fajr prayers, mosques offered special prayers for the nation’s success and prosperity, as well as for the independence of Jammu and Kashmir, which India unlawfully occupies.
On Defence and Martyrs’ Day, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Services Chiefs, and the nation’s armed forces paid rich respect to the martyrs, their families, and war veterans.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar stated in his speech on Defence and Martyrs’ Day that we will remember September 6 as a day of vigor, bravery, tenacity, and resilience.
He declared that this momentous day, when the whole Pakistani people stood shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces, inspires us to renew our commitment to Pakistan and pay homage to the brave sons of the soil who embraced “Shahadat” while ensuring the safety of the country.
The nation’s defence, according to the prime minister, must protect all aspects of the nation’s physical and intellectual frontiers, and it extends well beyond only the events of September 6th.
He asserted that the entire country stands with the armed forces to defeat nefarious plans to undermine Pakistan’s integrity and prosperity in the face of many security threats, including extremism, terrorism, and external aggression.
