ECP unfreezes voter lists for registration, corrections till Oct 25

By removing limits on voter lists nationwide on Thursday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) allowed eligible people to register, move, or correct their votes till October 25.

ECP unfreezes voter lists for registration: The election watchdog posted about the development on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The initiative will assist in including new voters, and they can also have the lists modified.

It should be mentioned that on July 20, 2023, the ECP had locked the voter list.

By thawing the voter list, the electoral watchdog is able to update voter information, add new registrations, and make any necessary changes to the list in order to make sure that it accurately reflects the eligible voters in the jurisdiction.

The efficient running of elections depends on keeping an accurate and up-to-date voter list.

The event occurs one day after the ECP released the preliminary constituency lists. This work was completed 15 days ahead of schedule.

The preliminary lists were expected to be released by the electoral watchdog on October 10. However, after speaking with political parties, it decided to shorten the time limit.

General elections will take place in the final week of January 2024, according to the ECP.
