Elections held within 90 days LHC: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has mandated that the upcoming general elections must take place within a period of 90 days.

Regarding the declaration of the election date, LHC sent notices to the Pakistani Election Commission and the Principal Secretary to the President.

The delimitation process has varied timetables, according to the AIG, and the ECP is unable to shorten them because they will take four months to complete.

Nevertheless, the court raised the question of why the CCI did not authorize the census at the time, despite its completion.

As per a previous statement from Pakistan’s Election Commission (ECP), holding general elections within 90 days is not possible.

The Pakistani Election Commission chose the census of 2023 as the date for the upcoming general election.

According to the ECP, the commission is require to complete the delimitation procedure. The first publishing will take place on October 9 and the last one on December 14.

However, The ECP meeting determined that they will consult the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and the provincial governments in the delimitation process.
