Elections to be held on census 2023, confirms PBS director

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) Chief Census Commissioner Dr. Naeem Zafar has announced that the upcoming elections will take place during census 2023.

Elections held on census 2023: The Chief Census Commissioner has officially completed the digital census for 2023, and work on the delimitations will begin shortly.

He mentioned that they would conduct the forthcoming census using new technology and would listen to political parties with concerns about the digital census.

Once the notification of the digital census 2023 is release in a week, the PBS director will provide the information of 0.1 million blocks for delimitation to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), according to the PBS director.

Additionally, according to Dr. Naeem Zafar, the ECP has control over the delimitation and can estimate how long it will take.

The Council of Common Interests (CCI) has approved the first digital census, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), bringing the country’s population to 241 million.

Following the CCI approval of the first digital census results in 2023, the PBS official report was publish. According to the research, there are 241 million people living in Pakistan (24 crores, 14 lakhs, and 90 thousand). 2.55 percent of the population is expect to grow.

According to the PBS study, Sindh has a population of 55 million people, compared to Punjab’s 127 million (12 crores, 76 lakhs, 80 thousand).
