According to the family, Azam Khan, the former prime minister’s principal secretary, has vanished.

Azam Khan goes missing: According to a Friday application made to the SHO of Kohsar Police Station, “On June 15, 2023, my uncle [Azam Khan] left his house around/between 6:30/7pm for an appointment in Islamabad, but since has been missing and not in communication with anyone.”

The PTI-led administration, of which Khan was a member, was overthrown in 2022. He held the grade of 22 officer up till the previous administration. He was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s chief secretary in 2017.

In September 2022, someone leaked a purported audio tape from the PM House, which brought Khan’s name to light. Reports indicate that Khan had proposed calling a meeting where Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who was then the foreign minister, would read the letter aloud.

The PTI referred to the document as the “cypher” and used it as evidence of a foreign conspiracy to overthrow their government. But when the former premier discussed it in several interviews, the PTI later had varied interpretations of similar proofs.
