The Federal Investigation Agency’s cyber crime unit summoned attorney Naeem Haider Panjutha.
FIA summons Imran’s lawyer: One of Imran Khan’s solicitors, Panjutha, has been call in connection with a matter involving Judge Humayun Dilawar’s Facebook postings.
On August 5, after Judge Dilawar sentenced him to three years in prison in the Toshakhana case, authorities detained Imran Khan from his Lahore home.
Imran’s attorneys had used the Facebook posts against the former prime minister as proof of the judge’s bias throughout the trial. He should hear the Toshakhana case, they had urged.
Imran’s attorneys filed an appeal to be grante the right of defense, and the matter was also raise in the Islamabad High Court.
For his part, the judge had denied writing the Facebook posts.
Imran’s attorney had argued that although the judge should decide whether to order a judicial inquiry into the posts, it would be appropriate if the court did not take further action.
After passing judgement on Imran, the judge has already departed Pakistan.
