The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) Counter Terrorism Wing has called in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister for questioning in the cypher case.

FIA summons PTI chairman in cypher case: The FIA Islamabad headquarters reportedly called the PTI leader to appear in the cypher case on July 25.

The PTI leader and former prime minister will be the subject of the joint inquiry team’s inquiry. The federal cabinet requested the formation of the probe team.

Additionally, the FIA notice required the PTI chairman to bring all documents connected to the cypher, and if he failed to do so, the FIA might take unilateral action against the former prime minister.

Azam Khan, a former principal secretary to the PTI chairman and former prime minister, made shocking claims earlier and asserted that the former PM used US cypher for his ‘political benefits’ and to fend off a motion of no-confidence against him.

Khan, who had been “missing” since last month, unexpectedly showed up in front of the action and made shocking discoveries regarding the US cypher while giving a magistrate his testimony as required by CrPC 164.

“The PTI chairman and former prime minister said in response to Azam Khan’s statement that he will reserve judgment till all the facts are known.” He claimed that the circumstances surrounding Azam Khan’s words are yet unknown.

However, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed that they should punish Imran Khan for engaging in anti-state “cypher drama” and that the confessional statement of former principal secretary Azam Khan constituted a “charge sheet” against him.
