Jalil Abbas Jilani, the interim foreign minister, left for China on Monday to attend the third Himalaya forum.
Jilani leaves for China: Jilani will reportedly meet Wang Yi, the Chinese foreign minister, while at the event, according to sources.
The visit is notable since it occurs just after Pakistan and China celebrated the China Pakistan Economic Corridor’s tenth anniversary. The meeting might lead to increased project-related cooperation.
He might also run into Mulla Ameer Muttaqi, the Afghan foreign minister. The two ministers would meet for the first time since Afghanistan stepped up measures to prevent Tehreek-e-Taliban fighters from utilising its territory.
Foreign ministers from other south east Asian nations, such as Bhutan and Bangladesh, will also attend the event, and additional meetings may be schedule on the sidelines.
