A continuation of the downward trend in gold prices on the domestic market as the Pakistani rupee recovered against the US dollar as a result of the IMF loan agreement.

Gold price declines in Pakistan: Data from the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) show that the price of gold decreased by Rs 2,200 per tola to close at Rs 205,000 and by Rs 1,887 per gramme of 24 karat gold to reach Rs 175,754.

The precious metal’s price rose to $1,929 per ounce on the world market, a gain of $19.

The cost of silver, meanwhile, remained constant at Rs 2,500 per tola and Rs 2,143.34 for every 10 grammes.
