Government’s first goal is citizen security: Says PM

Presiding over a meeting on the general state of law and order in the nation in Islamabad on Saturday, PM Shehbaz declared that “citizen security” is the government’s first goal and that they will not tolerate any gap in security.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the relevant authorities to carry out the Apex Committee’s decisions in full.

The Prime Minister instructed the Interior Minister to visit the four provinces and emphasized the need for improved communication and coordination between the Center and the provinces to enhance the state of law and order.

He argued that they should provide contemporary weapons and equipment to law enforcement organizations and increase the capability of anti-terrorism departments in the provinces.

During the meeting, they discussed security issues for the four provinces, including Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.

During the meeting, they informed the attendees on the actions they are taking to better organize safe city initiatives in major cities.

According to reports, the federal interior secretary visited the four provinces at the prime minister’s request to investigate problems the provinces were having and assess the need for resources to help the nation’s law and order situation.

However, The minister of interior, Rana Sanaullah Khan, and special assistants to the prime minister, Syed Tariq Fatimi and Jehanzeb Khan, attended the meeting along with chief secretaries of the four provinces, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir, and the chief commissioner of the capital territory, Islamabad, and concerned officials.
