The coalition government, whose term is slated to end Monday, announced a big change by increasing daily travel and mileage reimbursements for all public employees by 50%.
Govt increase travel allowance: The amended allowances will now have a maximum special rate of Rs. 7,200 per day for personnel in Grade 22, followed by Rs. 6,000 for Grade 21, and Rs. 4,920 for those in Grades 19 and 20 when travelling inside the nation, according to the announcement released by the Ministry of Finance.
In a similar vein, personnel in Grades 17 and 18 will make a maximum daily salary of Rs. 3,840, while those in Grades 12 to 16 would make a maximum daily salary of Rs. 2,160. Grades 1 through 4 will be the eligible for Rs. 1,200 per day, while Grades 5 through 11 would receive Rs. 1,320.
Additionally, the per-kilometer mileage allowances have been increased for a variety of types of transportation, including personal vehicles, taxis, motorbikes, and public transportation.
Specific stations, including well-known cities and towns across the nation, will be subject to the new daily allowance prices.
