The Ministry of Commerce has prohibited the export of 212 products to Afghanistan.

Govt bans export to Afghanistan: According to SRO Number, numerous toiletries, tea leaves, cosmetics, and 17 different types of clothing have all been outlawed.

Similar restrictions apply to the importation of nuts, dried and fresh fruits, and home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, juicers, and mixers.

“Pakistan took this action in response to the imposition of a 10% processing fee on several imports made under the transit trade agreement with Afghanistan.”

According to a customs department notification, “the Federal Government has imposed a processing fee at the rate of 10% ad valorem on the following Afghan transit commercial goods imported into Afghanistan in transit via Pakistan,” in accordance with the authority granted by section 18D of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969).

“This measure impacts items such as confectionery, chocolate, footwear, various machines, blankets, home textiles, and clothing.”

According to information released on Friday, Pakistan has developed a new plan to reduce the government’s financial losses due to the Afghan transit trade.

According to sources, the Afghan transit trade caused Pakistan to lose 180 billion rupees annually. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) developed a fresh plan to prevent the smuggling of the transit goods in order to reduce the financial losses.

According to the documents, Pakistan would provide a complete guarantee for any luxuries traded through Afghanistan.

Following the advice of the Special Investment Facilitations Council’s (SIFC) top committee, the federal government resolved to stop smuggling luxury goods through the Afghan transit trade.

The documents state that they placed a block on the export of a number of luxury commodities, including tires, textiles, cosmetics, tiles, and other items, until they received authorization from the appropriate authorities.
