Before the ICC World Cup 2023, former Pakistani captain Mohammad Hafeez declared his “quit” from the PCB’s Cricket Technical Committee (CTC).
Hafeez steps down Technical Committee: Mohammad Hafeez announced his resignation as an honorary member of the PCB CTC on X, formerly known as Twitter.
I made the decision to resign from the Pakistan Cricket Technical Committee. As an honorary member, I served. I appreciate Zaka Ashraf sb providing me this chance, Hafeez said in his letter.
“Whenever Zaka Asraf needs my frank advice for Pakistan cricket, I’m always accessible. As always, I wish Pakistani cricket the best. He concluded, “Pakistan Zindabad.
A well-known CTC made up of former Pakistani captains Misbah-ul-Haq (head), Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez was assembled by the PCB for the benefit of the uninitiated.
“The CTC will provide recommendations on cricket-related matters, including, but not limited to, the overall domestic structure, scheduling, playing conditions, selection of the national selection committees, appointment of national team coaches, central and domestic contracts, and plans for the development of umpires, referees, and curators,” said the PCB in a statement.
The announcement further stated that “the CTC will have the authority to invite additional cricket experts” and that “the CTC shall report to the head of the PCB Management Committee on a regular basis.”
It is noteworthy that Mohammad Hafeez decided to leave the CTC just before Pakistan announced its team for the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2023.
The PCB announced earlier today that they will reveal the much-awaited Pakistan squad for the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2023 on Friday morning.
“At the important gathering on Wednesday night to discuss Pakistan’s performance in the recently finished ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2023, Mohammad Hafeez was also present.”
Before declaring his retirement from international cricket in 2022, Mohammad Hafeez represented Pakistan in 392 matches across all formats and amassed 12,780 runs, including 21 centuries and 64 fifties.
