Imaan Mazari, a human rights activist who was detained in connection with a sedition case, has had his post-arrest bail request heard by an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad postponed until August 28.

Imaan was detained at Adiala Jail for a 14-day judicial period following the Islamabad ATC’s decision. The detention pertains to a sedition charge due to a speech critiquing government institutions.

Imaan Mazari, the daughter of former human rights minister Shireen Mazari, was detained on August 20 after the activist reported suspected intruders breaking into her home on social networking platform X. Ali Wazir, a PTM MNA, was also detained.

Both were detained on suspicion of sedition, interfering with the performance of government functions, and causing damage to public property.
